Born out of an experiment to find a visual representation for the way one perceives the surroundings whilst on foot, these images provide an intriguing view of the world. The series presents a world seen in the round, through a patchwork of fluctuating tone and diverging forms.
Each of the 72 images in the original poliptych works is a separate photograph, printed in its entirety, all are taken from a single location and together capture a full panorama. Automatic exposure, light balance etc, for each aspect of the surrounding space leads to the tonal patchwork, and the sequence of angles shot through produces the fisheye like distortions in form.
These works are available in a set of 3 sizes; a unique original work where each of the 72 photographs is individually printed & mounted and a single print in a limited of 5, and also at a smaller size in an open edition.
One specially commissioned version can also be made from each piece – providing it’s at a significantly larger size than the original piece. Here’s a short video that shows a sketch version of Camden Willow Tree going up on a wall in the studio complex.
